Transition for Early Years Children

After Easter 2024 we will begin our arrangements for new pulils to begin transition in to their first class.

Parents and children can start by attending some 'pop in and play' sessions on some afternoons. This gives them a chance to become familiar with the classroom inside and outside and spend time with the class teacher.

We invite everyone who will be attending in September to come together on the school field for some activites during a June morning. This is a lovely time for parents and carers to meet too.

In late June and in to July we plan some afternoon sessions for more 'pop in and play' and one or two occassions for parents to leave them with us for a short time. These sessions are planned in very small groups and last for about 1 hour.

We find all these opportunities help children to settle in to their new class and get to know their teacher and teaching assistant well before they start in September.

Great transition leads to fantastic starts!

A welcome from the Headteacher

Dear Prospective Parents and Carers,

Choosing the right school for your child can be a big decision. You may have a choice of several schools near to where you live and so you will want to find out as much as you can about all of them so you can make the right choice when you apply.

On this page there are two videos that can help you gain a flavour of our school. They are well worth watching.

If you have any further questions  please do give us a call.

Mr John Barnes

Headteacher

Meet Mrs Harwood- Tigers Class Teacher

Mrs Harwood is our Tigers Class teacher. This is our transition video which gives you a good idea of what to expect when your child attends here at Catsfield.
